Revisiting wasting in Bangladesh

We wonder that the factors associated with wasting have changed over time however the wasting itself does not. We hypothesis that though the overall change in the WHZ-score is not significant there exist some groups in society behave differently in terms of changing their nutritional status. These need to be explored if there is no change or there are positive changes in some class in society and on the other hand there are negative changes in some class. The current study aims to investigate the long term changes in the WHZ-score of under-five children in various sub-classes in society in Bangladesh. This information would be useful to achieve the target of reducing malnutrition in children in Bangladesh and globally as well. The target can be achieved by stopping the negative changes and accelerating positive changes. Other developing countries can also be benefited from the lesson learned from the current study.
